The Cadillac of Tower Deer Blinds!!!!

In 2004, my hunting partners in Missouri decided to purchase some tower blinds from Deerstands USA to place on their favorite food plots. This is private property where food plots are planted anually. Three of the tower blinds were purchased and used during whitetail deer season. The decision was made to purchase additional stands, but Deerstands USA had gone out of business. They purchased another tower blind from another competitor.

Not being happy with the competitors blind, a search began to see what had happened to Deerstands USA. To make a long story short, my friends were able to locate the former owner of Deerstand USA and managed to purchase the tower blind design, manufacturing equipment, production jigs, and even employed the production manager to work in the new company.

Production is limited to 3 types of stands in either a 15 foot or 18 foot height. They are:

The basic design is just like the Deerstand USA except there are a couple of improvements. A safety vertical grab-bar has been added to the left of the door openings to make it easier to enter and exit the blind. A ladder catch has been added to the back of the stand to make the initial installation easier. Since the owners of the stands are dedicated hunters, improvements will continue to be made as needed. the demos

The manufacturing facility is located in Drake, Missouri on Highway 50 which is 45 miles east of Jefferson City and about 60 miles west of St. Louis. All 3 models are set up at the production site and are available for inspection. The configuration as shown is a 15' Bow hunter tower on the left, an 18'height 4' x 4' tower in the center, and a 18' height 4' x 6' tower. Needless to say, these are made in the USA and not in China. [To see a larger picture, click on the picture.]

The pricing for 2009 may change so the best bet is to go to the SecondCreekDeerBlinds Home Page and check the current prices from there.

Since I have helped assemble and then hunted from these blinds, I can testify how comfortable a hunt in miserable weather can be. On one of the wettest days of a past hunt, I had the priviledge of sitting in one of these for an entire afternoon when the cold rain was coming and going. Other friends who were hunting in rain gear about froze and drowned that day. [The picture is one of the working stands on the Missouri property.]

These blinds are not for everyone. They should be evaluated by serious hunters who have private property and food plots or other stable deer stands such that when set up, they should be there for an extended period of time. They can be moved, but it is not a trival task to move one. Another consideration is that of moving the stand from the production facility to your location. Since the platform is preassembled, shipping can be prohibitive. The legs on the 18 ft high stands are over 22 feet long. If you are a serious buyer and hunter, you should make plans to visit the production facility and take one or more of the stands home with you.

An additional service that can be purchased from SecondCreek is that of delivery and installation. When that is done, you provide where you want the blind placed and it will be delivered and installed so that it is ready to hunt. It doesn't get much easier than that.
