Long Range Firearm Training

What is not missing one trophy deer/elk worth in dollars and cents? We may have the best equipment available and still miss the mark. How many times is "the BIG ONE" just out of range that we are comfortable shooting at? Again, what is that trophy worth?

For most of us who have not been in the military, we have been taught to shoot by a father, brother, grandparent, or some friend who was taught likewise. The case in point is that the instructor was not a professional trainer. Most of us think that going to the range and shooting will improve our shooting abilities, ala practice makes perfect. It doesn't...it makes our habits--good or bad-- permanent.

If you shoot 1000 times with bad technique, you are sure to creat bad habits. You'll pay the price when the time comes when you need to rely on your skills the most. So, how can someone improve their shooting skills?

High Caliber Training is offering what they are calling "The Remington Rifle 1 Course" for hunters and shooting enthusiasts who want to be able to hit the target with their first shot even at what most would consider as "long range". In this course, along with emphasizing safety, they cover environmental effects, scope theory and adjustments, ballistics, and more. This is a 3 day class that is held 20 minutes from Memphis, TN. If you are interested in seeing more information and when the next class will be held, the class overview and an application are available here. Please be patient as the file is large and may take a few seconds to load. You will need to print the application form since the pdf "print" doesn't work.
