The Forschner name is being eliminated!!!

Although Victorinox is known the world over as the creator of the Original Swiss Army Knife, it started out in 1884 as a cutlery workshop. By the time the first pocket knife had been created, they had been selling fine cutlery to professionals for years. Victorinox was approached by New York's R. H. Forschner, known since 1855 as the builder of scales for butchers, to be the sole cutlery supplier in the US.

The two companies joined forces in 1937 with the Forschner products becoming the dominate professional brand -- from the meat packing plants of the Midwest to the four-star restaurant kitchens of Midtown Manhattan.

After all these years, the brand is returning to its roots...that being the Victorinox branding. The products will be the same but without the Forschner name stamped on the blades as many have had in the past. The warranty will remain the same, and hopefully, the product numbers will also remain the samne.

So, when all is said and done, the name changes but all else remains the same as for quality and warranty.
