Details

Smith & Wesson's Model 10 is part of the K-Frame (mid-sized revolvers) lineup which was first introduced in 1899. The K-Frame has been a favorite mid-sized revolver used by the military, police professionals, and target shooters ever since its inception.

Chambered in .38 Special, this revolver is both very accurate and durable. With its solid carbon steel frame and cylinder, this revolver is rated for higher pressured +P loads. This revolver features an attractive blue finish and is equipped with attractive wood grips. The longer 4" barrel associated with this revolver allows for greater accuracy making this an ideal target or home defense gun.

Product Question and Answer

Q: I've seen that some of the .38 special +p revolvers can shoot .357 rounds as well. Is this true with this firearm?

Posted On: 2/18/11 By: Benjamin Buchanan

A: Do not ever shoot .357 Magnum ammunition in a revolver chambered for the .38 Special. It is very unsafe due to the high pressures generated by the .357 Magnum. You can shoot .38 Special ammunition in a .357 Magnum revolver, but not the other way around. The Smith and Wesson model 10 is designed for .38 Special ammunition only. It is rated for standard pressure and +P pressure .38 Special loads.
