Product Question and Answer
Q: I've seen that some of the .38 special +p revolvers can shoot .357 rounds as well. Is this true with this firearm?
Posted On: 2/18/11 By: Benjamin Buchanan
A: Do not ever shoot .357 Magnum ammunition in a revolver chambered for the .38 Special. It is very unsafe due to the high pressures generated by the .357 Magnum.
You can shoot .38 Special ammunition in a .357 Magnum revolver, but not the other way around.
The Smith and Wesson model 10 is designed for .38 Special ammunition only. It is rated for standard pressure and +P pressure .38 Special loads.
