Smith & Wesson's Model 36 often referred to as the Chiefs Special was the first five-shot J-frame .38 Special revolver produced by Smith & Wesson. Since that time, Smith & Wesson has made improvements on the classic design that traces its roots back to the Colt Detective Special but it remains true to its time honored roots.
One such improvement is that this modern Model 36 is strong enough to fire the more powerful +P loads due to its strong carbon steel frame and cylinder. This snubnose revolver comes with a nickel finish with a stylish wood handle. Due to its lightweight design, this revolver makes for an excellent concealed carry gun with a compact 1.875" long barrel.
