The American made Smith & Wesson 442 Airweight revolver has been a huge success since its introduction winning over fans for its value as an ideal self defense weapon. At just 15 oz this is a very light compact revolver chambered in 38 special capable of firing +P loads to ensure great knock down power to eliminate threats.
With a small internal hammer, double action only (DAO) design, this revolver's hammerless contour is designed to prevent snagging on clothing. A huge advantage of revolvers is there simplicity relative to autos as well as compact shape making them easy to carry on an ankle, hip, purse, or pocket. If you can pull the trigger, you can make it work. Horace Smith and Daniel Wesson's early partnership supplied the U.S. calvary with their early Model 3 American revolver and to this day are a leading supplier for the United States military with a reputation for quality and performance.
