I own the Tactical Model, The GI Model and the Officer's Model I love all three guns and have not had a problem with any of them. They are all quality firearms and for the money they can't be beat. The Officers model is one of my concealed carry guns. I fell in love with the 1911 when I was 12 years old shooting my Dad's Remington Rand 1911A1. I still have that gun. It like me is in semi retirement and the Rock Island Armory guns are my shooters. (Posted on 9/5/12)Performance Value Quality - AWESOME GUN, AWESOME VALUE! - Review by Jordan

I bought one of these about a month ago, it's actually the tactical model, but put 200 rounds of FMJ throught it right out of the box and not one hiccup. It's a fantastic value, it's a 1911 for less than 500, thats hard to find. The quality is unexpected from a $420 1911, but it's tight, no gaps between slide and frame, beautiful trigger pull, the tactical model has the ambi safeties, skeletonized combat trigger and hammer, and an extended beavertail safety. The normal GI model is no slouch, it's a basic 1911 without the uneeded crap. I highly recommend these pistols, i also just bought another one, but the officers model with the 3.5" barrel. I expect the same results with that one as well. I'd say buy three! they go fast and the price isn't going to come down. (Posted on 6/10/11)Value Quality Performance
