Details

The Charter Arms Bulldog is one of the classic revolvers! Chambered in the big bore .44 Special, this handgun means business.

The Bulldog features a 2.5" barrel, fixed front sight, and wide notch rear sight. Unloaded, the Bulldog weighs 21 ounces, which means it is light enough to carry all day, but has just enough heft that it won't beat you up when you go to the range. Rubber grips also help tame the Bulldog.

Known for its rugged reliability and stopping power, Charter’s Bulldog is a versatile revolver for personal or home protection. This safe, reliable revolver is powerful enough for serious home protection, but has the size and functionality for effective concealed carry!

I shoot the lehigh defense 220gr.extreme penetrator, and the 240gr.cf, (controlled fracture)rounds for either personal defense, or out in the field.
Combine those rounds, and this little pistol, and you have an incredibly powerful, accurate, reliable, concealed carry gun! (Posted on 9/28/15)

I had one of the orig. 2.5" light-weight stnls models. It was a cool big/little package I used for trail and concealed carry. It started to loosen up a bit in the swing-out after several hundred rounds of medium/hot loads but I never felt it was going to fail or become unusable. It obviously wasn't designed for thousands of rounds of shooting. I left it with my ex when I left and... I miss it still. Hope to aquire another while they're still availible. (Posted on 8/25/15)

Haven't had any issues with my Target 4" in the past year.... 1st of 3 .44 Specials and 2 .44 Mag revolvers I've purchased. Very accurate at the Range and one of my majority CCW. Ammo hasn't been a problem for me.... I shop online at various ammo distributors.... BeeBlessed44 (Posted on 4/25/15)

I have many pistols, but this is my favorite; I carry it with me when I go down to fish on the Texas coast because it will not rust, light and easy to carry, and fires every time even after a dunk in salt water. Did I mention cost?? The least expensive pistol that I own (less than $4oo.00) Better get one before there all gone! Best Regards, Perry Dalby, Major General (Ret). (Posted on 3/18/15)

I bought a new Bulldog for concealed carry purposes. The new charter arms are as good as the original ones. I have a 3" bulldog I purchased about 30 years ago. The new 2.5" bulldog and my older 3 ' should serve me well for conceal carry. Charter Arms old or new build quality revolvers. I have never had the older 3" fail me, and I haven't had any problems with the newer one. (Posted on 3/23/14)
Good Quality / Unique Handgun - Review by Drifter

I owned the 4 inch target version of this gun for many years. It was fun to shoot and light and compact enough to carry concealed. It packed a punch and I had no doubt that the .44 cal semi wad-cutter hollow points would do the trick if ever I needed the trick done.

It does take about 100-200-rounds of target practice with this weapon in order to get accustomed to the kick (considerably more than a .38), but easy to manage with practice. (Posted on 6/25/13)

Good gun, but ammo is pricey and hard to get. I'm going back to .38 because of ammo issues. The gun itself is a good buy for the money and the warranty is outstanding. I sent mine back for some issues after five years of regular carry and monthly range time. It was repaired in a week and better than new when I got it back. Can't argue with that.

I love the power this gun has to offer. The distinct length along with hard-punching power, it just does'nt get any better than that (Posted on 10/6/11)
