I bought my Single Action Army Colt .357 magnum when I was 14 years old (with Dad's help). It was used and in fair shape, though not bad and with instruction and supervision from a friend of Dad's (who was a gunsmith) I took it apart, thoroughly cleaned it and reassembled it. The gunsmith/friend inspected (and even graded) my work, test fired the weapon and deemed it fit for use. That was more than 30 years ago, and since then (between hunting and target shooting) I have put several thousand rounds of .38 ammo and well over a thousand rounds of .357 magnum ammo through it (.38 ammo is much cheaper). At the end of each shooting session or hunting trip I carefully cleaned the firearm and stored it safely in a fleece-lined case and locked in a gun cabinet. I am an avid hunter and outdoorsman and over the course of my lifetime I have owned many firearms and taken very good care of every one of them (as I was taught to from an early age) , but that Colt .357 has been, without a doubt, the most reliable and dependable gun I have ever owned. Over the years I have purchased several other Single Action Army Colts (both new and used) of various calibers and barrel lengths. Every one of them has been an excellent investment and a highly accurate and reliable firearm for both hunting and target shooting. (Posted on 10/4/14)Quality Performance Value
