Details
Marlin's 1894 is chambered for either 44 Remington Magnum or 44 S&W Special and is reminiscent of sporting lever action rifles from the Old West. Featuring an accurate 20" Ballard type rifling barrel, this rifle is accurate and reliable. The receiver comes drilled and tapped for scope mounts making it easy to later add a scope for improved accuracy. The stock has an attractive Walnut finish and the rifle comes equipped with a rubber butt pad to reduce the affect of the recoil.

For the woods hunting of my home state (VT), to VA and WV where I have lived since, these are OUTSTANDING. With ordinary 240 grain soft points, out to 125 yards, this is a HAMMER on deer. I never had a chance at bear, but if I thought that were on the menu, I'd buy a couple of boxes of Buffalo Bore 340 grain ammo. At the short ranges at which eastern black bear are taken, I have zero doubt as to the ability of this cartridges' ability. I performs far above its 'paper' ballistics. Rifles themselves (I have two, one blue, one stainless) are very good quality. Not a SAKO, but then, not the price of a SAKO! But for a solid blue collar gun (legal everywherem inlcuding DC), hard to beat. Same opinion on my THREE Marlin's in 35 Remington. Quick handling lever gun. Major plus is use of round in handgun. Due to vision problems I require a scope but a 4x old school Weaver makes mine into an off hand tack driver to 100 yards easy.Value Quality Performance
Probably the best of what it is. As the man said... If this is the kind of thing you like then you will like this.
