Details
The Ruger LC9 is a very compact and thin pistol that is perfect for concealed carry or back-up gun duties. Playing off of the incredibly popular LCP pistol, Ruger has chambered this pistol in the potent 9mm cartridge.
The LC9 is a double-action only (DAO) pistol, fired by hammer, not striker. The pull is smooth, but not heavy.
Super thin, this pocket gun is only 0.9" wide. Seemingly impossible, the LC9 weighs only 17.1 ounces, yet still has a 3.12" barrel, a 7+1 capacity and real, three dot sights.
The LC9 frame is made of a high-performance, glass-filled nylon, while the slide and barrel are steel. The frame is black, and the slide is blued.

Due to the trigger pull (long) I got mine for $175.00 from a disgruntled buyer , what a deal Ruger makes top stuff, you can pay lots more if you want to, but every time I pull the trigger, it goes boom. (Posted on 5/4/15)Value Quality Performance - Great Concealed Carry Weapon - Review by Tom

This is a very good weapon to carry and shoot, but only if modified with the Galloway Precision trigger pull changes to the hammer and trigger pull bar. This reduces the trigger pull length by about half and lessens the trigger pull by a pound or more. My shot group went from 12+ inches to less than 6 inches after the mod. Also recommend the Williams Fire Sight to make it easier the get a quick sight picture. (Posted on 8/28/13)Performance Value Quality - OUTSTANDING CONCEALED CARRY PISTOL - Review by GEORGE

I started carrying a Taurus Pt 745 45 cal pistol in my front pocket for two years with a Uncle Mikes pocket holster (great pistol but slightly big and heavy for daily carrying). I bought a LC-9 and that is the best to carry. It is lighter and thinner and not as tall. I made a copy of Uncle mikes pocket holster cut out of a minilla folder. Cut in the same shape and stapled and taped together (It is half an inch thinner and works great-it won't last as long but you can make a new one in 5 min. I carry it with Buffalo Bore 124 gr +p ammo 1225 fps and 413 fp or Speer Gold dot 124 gr+p 1220 fps and 410 fp. I wish I had this pistol when I was flying as A SKY MARSHAL on PAN AM in the 70s on world routes from JFK. (Posted on 8/19/13)Performance Value Quality - very good - Review by K&D Firearms Training

Compared to a kel tec today, the owner liked the trigger on my LC9 better. He had a better shot group at longer ranges with LC9.Performance Value Quality
I was wearing thunder wear holster, client was shocked when I drew and fired the Ruger, very nice low profile. We had been together for over 5 hours in a Concealed Carry firearms class and never noticed I had a gun on.
In my last few classes the LC9 performed great, no jams, good hits out to 20 plus yards by most student on a B27 target. Good mag release, not sticky, simple to field strip for cleaning. Feed everything I put into it.

Lots of light strikes, the front sight fell and Ruger replaced the entire slide for me. What do you expect for 349.00 for an LC9 with Lasermax. (Posted on 1/20/13)Performance Value Quality - Perfect for carrying concealed - Review by ZeffanTM

The weapon is small and lightweight, and even my teenage girls can handle this without too much kickback. (Posted on 1/17/13)

Ruger LC9
The Ruger LC9 was announced today. The LC9 is a single-stack, 9mm compact pistol designed for concealed carry. Capacity is 7+1, and the LC9 is rated to handle +P ammunition.
The LC9 is double-action only. The new Ruger pistol is hammer fired, not striker fired.
The LC9 features rounded corners, also known as a “melting” treatment, to reduce chances the pistol would grab on clothing when drawing from concealment.
Even though the LC9 follows the naming conventions of the LCP, unlike the .380 pistol, the LC9 has very usable three-dot sights. The sights are dovetailed into the slide meaning that they are drift adjustable, and you could replace them with something else if you like.
The LC9 has a manual safety, which the SR9 has, but the LCP does not. The LC9 also has a loaded chamber indicator.
The LC9 is not California approved, but it looks like it has all of the features required for approval. I would expect that once California deems it acceptable, the subjects in that state may purchase the LC9 also.
Expect to see a lot of photos and video from the 2011 SHOT Show here.
