- Excellent gun - Review by Ridge Runner

Have had one for years. It is very manageable to shoot (compared to smaller snubs), accurate for a snub, and durable. I shoot hot .38s rather than .357s since I like hotter .357 loads in my larger GP-100 revolvers. Hot .357s can be a handful in this gun. Also very easy to carry and conceal. Excellent value. Product Question and Answer
Q: Is this a good weapon for a female, age 60,but strong hands.I wanted something with po,but easy to clean.

A: Hello Mary,
The Ruger SP-101 in .38 Special is a great firearm. It would be good for target shooting at the range, or defense. Ammunition is readily available as well as .38 Special is a very common caliber. Revolvers are fairly easy to clean as well and don't require disassembly like a semi-auto. It is an easy to control firearm as well. I would suggest seeing how it feels in your hands to see what you think.
