Details
The Ruger SR556 is a revolutionary rifle patterned on the AR15/M4. Instead of the dirty direct gas impingement system, the SR556 uses a chrome plated two stage piston driven operating system for superior reliability.
The system has a 4 position chrome plated gas regulator, allowing the reliable use of virtually any 5.56 or .223 ammunition: from cheap surplus to high end precision rounds. It even allows the shooter to prevent the system from cycling for the ultimate in quiet, precision shooting.
The bolt, bolt carrier and extractor are all chrome plated. The 16" barrel is cold hammer forged and chrome lined.
Other features include a 6 position telescoping M4 style buttstock, a Hogue Monogrip pistol grip, three Magpul 30 round magazines, Troy Industries folding battle sights, quad rail handguard, and rail covers
