The Savage Axis XP Package is designed to be a best-in-class hunting package. The Axis XP, formerly called the Savage Edge, is a bolt action rifle chambered in .30-06, making it suitable for hunting virtually any game in North America.
This Axis comes with a 3-9x40 variable power scope mounted and bore-sighted from the factory.
The Savage Axis XP features a camo-pattern synthetic stock, a 22" free floated barrel, and dual pillar bedding. Also the box magazine is detachable (3+1 capacity). The trigger is a standard, single stage trigger.

Q: How much of a kick does this gun have?

A: Lightweight .30-06 rifles are at the upper limit of what most shooters find acceptable or are able to withstand for long shooting sessions. If you are recoil sensitive, you might find that this rifle has too much kick.
Q: Does this gun come in a left handed model?

A: The Savage Axis XP does not come in a left handed model. Savage does offer a left handed model in 30-06, the 114 American Classic.
If you are open to different calibers there is also a Savage 14 American Classic Left Hand model.
Q: Are their higher cap mags available for this rifle?

A: Savage does not make high capacity magazines for the Savage Axis XP.
