The American made Smith & Wesson 642 Airweight revolver has been a huge success since its introduction winning over fans for its value as an ideal self defense weapon. The model 642 features an excellent blend of weight, shape, size, power, and ease of use. At just 15 oz this is a very light compact revolver chambered in 38 special capable of firing +P loads to ensure great knock down power to eliminate threats.

With a small internal hammer, double action only (DAO) design, this revolver's hammerless contour is designed to prevent snagging on clothing. A huge advantage of revolvers is their simplicity relative to autos as well as compact shape making them easy to carry on an ankle, hip, purse, or pocket. If you can pull the trigger, you can make it work. The trigger, cylinder latch, and ejector rod are the only three mechanical devices on this revolver that require manual operation making it easy to learn how to operate. Featuring a fairly heavy double action trigger pull, accidental discharges are unlikely to occur making this a relatively safe weapon.
