Smith & Wesson's Bodyguard 38 revolver chambered in 38 Special revolver was introduced at the 2010 Shot Show and is great revolver for personal defense with its integrated laser technology. At just 14.3 oz this is a very light compact revolver and is capable of firing +P loads to ensure great knock down power to eliminate threats.
The Bodyguard is equipped with an integrated laser made by Insight Technology. This red laser mounts high and back on the right side of the frame and is fully adjustable for wind drift and elevation. Simply push the button to activate the laser.
This revolver is able to achieve its ultra light weight feel through S&W's use of a steel-reinforced polymer for the lower frame while the upper frame uses an Aluminum Alloy. This Bodyguard 38 features a small internal hammer and a double action only (DAO) design. This revolver's hammerless contour is designed to prevent snagging on clothing. The cylinder release on this model is designed for ambidextrous use located along the mid-line of the revolver.
Since it's founding in 1852, Smith & Wesson have been leaders in innovative firearm technology and continue to this day. Horace Smith and Daniel Wesson's early partnership supplied the U.S. calvary with their early Model 3 American revolver and to this day are a leading supplier for the United States military with a reputation for quality and performance.
